Friends,
So I’ve done 13 trial episodes of a podcast on depression and faith. You can check them out HERE or go back and look at past posts of DMR.
I am now at a crossroads of needing to decide whether this is worth the time and effort etc. to make this happen.
I don’t have any really good way to get a sense of how many people are listening to this program. So I need your opinion. Do you listen to this, would you listen to it, and do you have any other suggestions on what would be helpful?
The podcast is about 2 1/2 to 3 minutes long. I haven’t solicited radio placement for it anywhere, although if there’s interest I may explore Pirate Christian Radio a little more.
Please leave your thoughts in the comments or email me directly. Thanks very much.

DMR,
Yes, I have been listening to these broadcasts. I have fallen behind as I too am a Pastor in the midst of Holy Week, but I have enjoyed what I have heard. I also have found your comments insightful and thought provoking for me. They have started my internal dialog regarding this subject and taken it in a better direction. Thank you. I hope that you are able to continue.
I've listened to and appreciated them all.
I've listened to them all and very much appreciate them. I like the fact that they are short. I hope many more will come!
I love 'em, especially the muse. But its not your vocation, just a hobby. I would like to hear more, but please don't knock yourself out just for me.
I'm listening, and I also agree with oms.
I've really enjoyed them and have kinda been looking forward to more, but totally understand if they have been taking too much time. As others have mentioned, your job is to be a good pastor and a good husband/father- put your energy into that and if you still feel you can keep up podcasting, then please do. If not, please don't!
I agree with SRB
Continue but only if true time allows.
Blessings to you.

Dear Todd:
I have not listened to your Podcasts but enjoy your blog very much. I share your diagnosis and started a blog about 6 months ago and though I have no idea how many people read it, it gives me great pleasure to try and help others in this area. If you derive pleasure out of the Podcasts I would bet that you don't have a ton of listeners at the site — but you COULD and WOULD have many thousands of people you could bring a message of the week to, or something along those lines. I have 20 years of radio experience (I had my own daily show in my last life as a financial planner/money manager), but I have helped several people start their own shows recently, and have lots of ideas in that area. If you enjoy the microphone, GO FOR IT — and here is how to do it:
The pharmaceutical companies as you know are at the top of advertising's big spenders list and they are always looking for angles. Propose to the station that you wish to offer them an opportunity, in that your interest is just to help people and you seek to send a message of hope out to those who are feeling blue or who may by depressed about something at the moment. Make it a minute (or perhaps 2- they'd like that better in that it would be better for their ad revenue) sponsored by any one of the drug manufacturers because they all have anti-depressants and those are among their biggest revenue producers. The trick will be brainstorming the banner line, like "This message of hope is from Father Todd to any of the 20 million people and their families touched by depression, sponsored by Prozac (or they will use the manufacturers name and say maker of the drug xyz). .. Off the top of my head, actually this rocks — present it as the "Medical Minute" or A "Medical Minute of Hope from Father Todd Peperkorn" , sponsored by AstraZeneca (or whoever). I've yapped enough, email me for more or to brainstorm or talk. This is the type of thing that could easily get picked up Nationally and syndicated if it is done right. Hope I have helped.
As your time permits… please do continue to voice your thoughts and encouragement to those of us who are still looking up to see the snake's belly.
